Ever wonder if there were spots in Mystic you could go for a late dinner or even a place to grab a beverage and listen to live music and just relax? An intimate Italian Bistro offering a jazzy international ambiance, Anthony J’s is open until 10 pm and is a great place to enjoy the cozy atmosphere while enjoying a late-night bite to eat. Just steps from our front doors, our favorite dishes include Hot Rocks, Quatro Formaggio, and the Veal Meatballs.  For those looking for a little pick me up, the espresso martini is amongst the best in town.

Engine Room: Photo of Engine Room

Located on Holmes Street, less than a three-minute walk from the Inn, Engine Room offers a mouthwatering farm to table menu and creative cuisine.  This hot spot is also known for the exceptional beer and bourbon selections (although I must admit I am partial to their Old Fashioned). While food is served until 10 pm be sure to stay a bit later on the weekend to enjoy live entertainment.

Mystic Pizza:

Best known as the movie, this spot is a great if you want to see memorabilia from the movie, grab a quick slice or pie while enjoying a beer or two. Mystic Pizza is open nightly until 10 pm. Not in the mood for pizza?  Don’t forget to take the obligatory, “I visited Mystic” photo under the Mystic Pizza sign, it really is a right of passage for all visitors. After all, if you go to Mystic and don’t see Mystic Pizza, have you really even been to Mystic?

Captain Daniel Packer Inne:

A charming and cozy feel, the Captain Daniel Packer Inne features hearty, traditional, New England dishes. With more formal dining upstairs and a cozy pub downstairs, DPI (as the locals call it) was built in 1756.  The pub is the original stone basement and still features the large hearth fireplace, and stone bolder wall foundation. Menus are available till 10 pm with live music every night until 1 am.

Friar Tuck’s Tavern:

Open till 1 am every night, Friar Tucks offers an old English tavern with great food and drinks.  A perfect spot to relax with friends, old and new, Friar Tucks offers live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.  With a large craft beer selection and casual comfortable atmosphere, Mystic’s newest spot has enjoyed great popularity in the short year it has been open!

Harp and Hound:

The Harp and Hound, located in downtown on Pearl Street, is open till 1 am weeknights and 2 am on weekends. Enjoy live music Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at this authentic Irish pub, the perfect place to imbibe in an authentically poured Guinness.

Nightlife is one of the hidden gems here in downtown Mystic. Once you encounter it once, it will have you going back for more.  When booking your next stay be sure to ask about upcoming special events at these and other local venues!
