Festival of Lights
The holidays are the jolliest time of the year and Mystic definitely partakes in the festivities! While there are a variety of 
events in the Mystic area, the Olde Mystick Village celebrates on the first Friday of December with the Festival of Lights. This epic annual event brings together friends and families as they meander through the village and Mystic Aquarium and enjoy the 6,000 luminaries. While admiring the beautiful decorations folks can work on their holiday shopping in the 40 unique boutique stores that comprise the Olde Mistick Village. Entertainment by carolers and The Festive Brass Ensemble will surely put everyone in high spirits. The is definitely a can’t miss event in Mystic for your 2019 calendar!
Can’t-Miss Dinner Spots
Feeling a little hungry? The Village also features many restaurants and cafes which provide complimentary refreshments for most of the event. For more formal dining be sure to visit the newly renovated Go Fish. A local favorite, Go Fish features a delicious seafood menu and extensive sushi options. If you prefer more casual dining the pizza at Mango’s Wood Fired Pizza Co. cannot be beaten. With housemade bread and pizza dough baked in a massive wood-burning oven, Mango’s has quickly become a local favorite.
Christmas Under the Sea
The night is even more enchanted with the Mystic Aquarium’s participation in the event. After strolling down through the Village, make sure to bring a non-perishable food item to receive free admission into the Aquarium! All proceeds go to the Gemma E. Moran United Way Food Center located in New London, CT. So while you are admiring the exhibits you are also donating for a great cause. Enjoy the seasonal entertainment and be serenaded by Saxophone Santa as you explore your favorite exhibits.
Can’t-Miss Event in Mystic 2019
The Festival of Lights is admission-free. Mark your calendar for December 8th, 2019 and book your room now for this can’t miss event in Mystic. The lights extraordinaire will be from 5:30 – 9:30 PM located in Olde Mistick Village, 27 Coogan Blvd, Mystic, CT 06355.
