Everyone is Irish on Parade Day

Mystic is known for its ability to throw a party and our Irish Parade is no exception.  Each year over 30,000 viewers line the streets of the downtown Mystic area to partake in the festivities.  For 16 years now Mystic has proven that “Everyone is Irish on Parade Day”.  With temps expected to be near 50, we do not expect this year to be any different!

Honoring a Local Hero

The Mystic Irish Parade Committee made up fully of volunteers, organizes this amazing event with the help of local sponsors and a raffle fundraiser.  If you are lucky enough to be at this year’s event, be sure to stop and visit us on the corner Two woman wearing sunglasses and Irish sunglasses. of East Main and Cottrell Street to purchase your raffle ticket and enter to win a trip to Ireland!  This year’s Grand Marshall, Frank “Fritz” Hilbert, has served as Mystic’s Fire Chief for over 30 years.  After so many years of keeping us safe, we are so happy to see Fritz receive the recognition that he deserves!

The parade kicks off at the Mystic Seaport Museum parking lot continuing down Rt. 27 to Broadway and then right past our windows here on East Main Street.  Local establishments such as Friar Tucks and Harp and Hound will be celebrating all day, some serving breakfast to give your tummy a little something to help digest all that Guinness.  After-parties throughout Downtown will commence after the parade ends, usually about 2 ½ hours after kick-off!

Best Seats in the House

If you are in need of a hotel for the night of the parade be sure to contact us at 860-536-1506, book online, or swing by our front desk before of after the festivities!  The parade passes right past our Downtown Mystic location giving our guests the best seats in the house!  We hope to see you all this Sunday, when “Everyone is Irish on Parade Day”!
